The Accepter (アクセプター) is the transformation device that allows Naoto Sho to become Gridman. The Accepter also allows Naoto and his friends bi-dimensional access between the real and Computer Worlds from Junk.
In battle, the accepter is worn around Gridman's left arm, becoming the Gran Accepter (グランアクセプター) to unleash the Grid Beam and other techniques.
Overview[]
An oval-shaped, futuristic transformation device with color scheme and motif after Gridman himself. It was designed by Ippei Baba as part of a superhero model that in turn, became the template for Gridman's humanoid appearance. The Hyper Agent bestowed the Accepter to Naoto Sho, his first human host and partner, after sensing his desire to save his brother when the latter's life endangered by Mega-Virus that hacked the systems of hospital where he treated at, thus allowing the two to merge and fight their common enemy. This device is linked with Gran Accepter, allowing Naoto to perform Access Flash.
Abilities[]
- Access Flash: By pressing the button with one's fist while reciting the transformation call and standing in front of the junk, the wearer can merge with Gridman thus giving the Hyper Agent a corporeal form to fight Mega-Viruses with him in control and gained access to the latter's powers and abilities. The two can merge for at least 10 minutes in normal circumstances.
- G-Call: A feature where Accepter flashes whenever a Mega-Virus appears as Gridman's means to alarm his current partner.
Variations[]
Gran Accepter[]
Gran Accepter (グラン・アクセプター, Guran Akuseputā) is Accepter's counterpart in Gridman's possession. In addition of allowing him to merge with his current host and partner through the link between them, it serves as the Hyper Agent's main weapon that allows him to perform following techniques:
- Grid Beam: A beam of destructive laser comprised of data which can instantly destroy a Mega-Virus in a single blast.
- Spark Beam: Projecting fiery spark bolts with enough firepower to cripple a Mega-Virus in one or more shots. Can also be fired in point-blank range.
- Grid Light Saber: Forms a long blade made of solid energy that sharp enough to cleave a Mega-Virus in half. Can also be thrown with right hand like a boomerang.
- Tiger Thunder: A surge of stream-like, fiery energy beam fired from Accepter with superior firepower than Grid Beam.
Primal Accepter[]
The downgraded variant of the original Accepter Gridman bestowed to Naoto's successor Yuta Hibiki with red, blue, gold, and silver color scheme. It nevertheless retains the same function as its counterpart;
- Access Flash: As with Accepter, by pressing the button with one's fist while reciting the transformation call and standing in front of the junk, the wearer can merge with Gridman thus giving the Hyper Agent a corporeal form to fight Mega-Viruses with him in control and gained access to the latter's powers and abilities. The two can merge for at least 10 minutes in normal circumstances. Due to Junk's limited processing power, however, the wearer and Gridman must reduce their combined form's height to give more space for all of Neon Genesis Junior High School's data so they can join him all at once without the risk of overheating its systems.
- G-Call: As with ordinary Accepter, it flashes whenever a Mega-Virus appears as Gridman's means to alarm his current partner.
Gran Primal Accepter[]
Primal Accepter's counterpart to Primal Accepter. Other than establishing a link between it and the latter so Yuta can merge with Gridman, it endows following functions;
- Grid Beam: Gridman's energy beam finisher which firepower close to his original form's version.
- Gridknight Saber Slash: Downgraded version of his Grid Light Saber which, unlike the latter, can only be used as melee attack.
