The Birth of A New Hero (新世紀ヒーロー誕生!, Shinseiki Hīrō Tanjō!) is the first episode of Gridman the Hyper Agent.

Synopsis[]
The Evil Lord Khan Digifer suddenly appears on Takeshi's computer. He plants the Gilarus into a computer of the hospital where Naoto's little brother, Daichi is being treated for appendicitis. It disrupts the entire hospital's facility!
Summary[]
Naoto Sho, Yuka Inoue, and Ippei Baba are three middle-school computer nerds living in Sakuragaoka. Using used and discarded parts, they build themselves a fully-functional computer, which they name "Junk". Ippei uses it to create a 3D character model he christens as "Lightning Superhuman Gridman".
At school Takeshi Todo tries talking with Yuka, but fails to overcome his insecurity. This upsets him, so he takes it out on her by hacking the computer system of her family's hospital. Just then the Evil Lord Khan Digifer appears on his computer screen and pledges to help. Khan Digifer sends a computer virus to the hospital which appears in the form of a kaiju inside the Computer World of the hospital's computer system. This endangers Daichi (Naoto's little brother) who is there for an operation. Naoto, Yuka, and Ippei use Junk to counterattack against the kaiju, but their attack isn't strong enough.
A strange device, the Accepter, suddenly clamps onto Naoto's wrist, and the Hyper Agent Gridman appears on the computer screen, adopting the design that Ippei had designed earlier. He asks Naoto to combine with him. Naoto presses a button on the Accepter and is sucked into the computer screen. They combine and then travel through the electrical system to combat the kaiju, but their form is way too small. Yuka writes an enlarging program which expands Gridman's size. He is now a match for the kaiju, but his energy drops which is indicated by a blue light flashing on his forehead. He uses the Grid Beam to destroy the kaiju, and uses a fixer beam to repair the computer. Naoto returns to the human world and the kids are left to ponder these events.
